Annie HELLSTERN worked as corporate lawyer specialised in contracts and intellectual property in industry before joining our team in January 2018.


She works in the contract department for a clientèle of SMEs or international groups characterised by strong technological activity and culture.


She provides consultancy services, drafts, negotiates and monitors contracts, in English and French, at every stage of development and commercialisation of technologies (confidentiality agreements, R&D contracts, technology transfers, patent co-ownership agreements, patent licences, IT service contracts and software licences). She is also involved in the field of copyright for consultations or patent right assignment contracts.


In addition, she provides consultancy services on the taxation of intellectual property as well as on the structure of intra-group agreements.

Marco T. Connor

After his doctoral dissertation at EPFL (CH) and a post-doc at CSIC (ES) dedicated to research in the field of polymer and composite materials, Marco Connor joined EMS CHEMIE AG (CH) with the mission of developing new products and putting them on the market.


Between 1999 and 2007, Marco worked at the European Patent Office (EPO) in Munich as an examiner. During this period, he presided over numerous oral opposition proceedings. He participated in the project “EPO Scenarios for the Future” and passed the European qualification examination in 2005.


In 2007, Marco moved from examiner to patent attorney and headed the patent office of Office Kirkpatrick (BE). Three years later, he started his own business, working freelance with various firms, notably with BiiP (BE). In 2015, he joined forces with Nicolas Pecher to create together Pecher & Partners (BE).


Pecher & Partners works with LLR to offer inventors in the Belgian market a complete and effective range of services to assist them in the development of their intellectual property strategy. In this context, Marco Connor drafts patent applications and follows European and international grant procedures. In addition, he advises clients in their industrial property strategy, assists them in litigation and conducts patentability and freedom of exploitation studies.

Nicolas Pecher

Nicolas PECHER

After studying engineering, Nicolas became a lecturer at the National University of Zaire in Kinshasa. Later, he joined the Université Libre de Bruxelles as a researcher in the Department of Theoretical Nuclear Physics and the Department of Experimental Physics. A few years later, he started a new professional career in the private sector, as a consultant in industrial automation for energy transmission and distribution companies or companies specializing in nuclear power, the steel industry or even telecommunications networks. Working alongside innovative industrial companies, he discovered the world of intellectual property. He joined an IP consulting firm where he is introduced to patents.


In 2000, he finally opened his own practice, alone at first and then surrounded by collaborators.


From 2000 to 2013, he worked as a part-time patent manager at IBA.


In 2015, building on this experience, he founded a new firm, P & P, with his partner, Marco Connor, with whom he offers quality support to companies active in an array of economic sectors.

Nicolas Pecher has been involved on numerous occasions with patent infringement litigation in Europe and the USA.


In addition, he is a member of the BeAngels selection committee.

Dr. Holger Spachmann


Dr.-Ing. Holger Spachmann is partner of Stumpf Patentanwälte PartGmbB in Stuttgart since 2012 and head of the patent department.


After having passed an apprenticeship as electrician in a family-owned crafts enterprise, Dr. Spachmann served as corporal of the tank troops in military service. During his university studies, Dr. Spachmann specialized in electrical engineering at the TU Darmstadt and focused on communication technology and theory of electromagnetic fields. He achieved a diploma degree in electrical engineering as best of his class. Dr. Spachmann is author of a dozen of worldwide published scientific publications and passed his PhD degree on a new numerical method for higher order electromagnetic field simulation with summa cum laude. During his university career, Dr. Spachmann was scholar of the German National Academic Foundation. After his scientific career, he became project leader and senior software development engineer of CST AG, responsible for a major electromagnetic software package for simulation of charged particle accelerating structures.


In 2005, Dr. Spachmann entered the world of intellectual property and started a dual-path education as German Patent Attorney by working in an IP firm as patent attorney candidate and student of FernUniversität Hagen in law for patent attorneys. In 2008, he passed the bar as German Patent and Trademark Attorney, and in 2011, he qualified as European Patent Attorney.


Dr Spachmann is specialized on prosecution and litigation of technical IP rights such as patents and utility models and in the field of employee invention law. His major fields of technology are software-related inventions, electronics, electrical engineering, green energy generation, mechanical engineering and automotive inventions. His clients range from individuals to worldwide acting large companies.

Sarah Gehrlicher

During her university studies in civil engineering at the University of Stuttgart, Sarah Gehrlicher focused on structural engineering and mechanics and earned a diploma degree.


After graduation, she worked as a research assistant at the Materials Testing Institute at the University of Stuttgart (MPA Stuttgart) and was responsible for several research projects in the field of material testing and numerical analysis.


In 2011, she qualified as an International Welding Engineer (IWE) at the Training and Testing Institute of Welding in Fellbach, Germany.


In 2014, she started the education as a German Patent Attorney candidate by working at Stumpf Patentanwälte PartGmbB and by studying law for patent attorneys at FernUniversität Hagen. Furthermore, she was trained at the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court in Munich.


Since the beginning of 2018, she is working as a German Patent Attorney and European Trademark and Design Attorney. She is a freelance employee of Stumpf Patentanwälte PartGmbB in Stuttgart, Germany.

Bon Min, Guillaume KOO

Bon Min, Guillaume KOO

After completing several internships related to electrochemical conversions and/or storage , Bon Min, Guillaume Koo obtained his PhD degree on a method of spectroscopic characterization of a negative electrode material of Li-ion batteries within the condensed matter physics laboratory, a joint-research unit of CNRS/École Polytechnique (UMR 7643).


His scientific background allows him to understand inventions in the fields of materials science, mechanics, electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, microelectronic processes and instrumentation.


Having entered the profession in 2018, Guillaume Koo drafts patent applications and monitors their prosecution in France, Europe and worldwide.


Bicultural, Guillaume Koo is bilingual in French and Korean. Thanks to his French and Korean heritage, he is a perfect partner for our Korean clients active in Europe as well as for our European clients active in Korea.

Céline Thirapounnho


Before joining LLR, Céline Thirapounnho worked as a lawyer at the Paris Bar for 11 years.


Her activity was dedicated to intellectual property, including in particular trademark law, design rights, copyright and unfair competition law. Céline worked in both consulting (drafting and contract negotiations, IP support for M & A transactions, consultations) and in litigation (counterfeiting cases, settlement negotiation) for companies in luxury, retail and consumer goods; for the media, entertainment and technology sector.


Since 2018, Céline Thirapounnho has joined our team of intellectual property attorneys in Paris and Beijing.

Laurent Badie

After completing his end of study internship in a research team specialised in oncology within a public organisation, Laurent Badie graduated from the CEIPI and has worked as a patent engineer since November 2015.


Following a first experience in an IP firm in Paris then two years in Luxemburg, he joined LLR in November 2017 as a patent engineer. His main fields are biotechnologies and mechanics. He drafts patent applications and defends them during grant procedures, in France and abroad for small and medium-sized companies, large groups and public organisms.

Alexandra drafts patent applications both in french and english, follows up French, Swiss, European and foreign grant procedures and also carries out patentability and freedom-to-operate studies.


In 2017, Alexandra ROSSI-VON THUGEN relocated to Geneva where she pursued her activity as a patent attorney in a Swiss firm.


She returned to LLR as soon as the Swiss office of LLR was founded.
